Current blood values for TSH (thyroid) and creatinine (kidneys) are required. An ECG from the general practitioner should document sinus rhythm with a heart rate <65/min. If heart rates are higher, outpatient pretreatment with an oral beta-blocker for a few days would be reasonable. The patient is allowed to consume a light meal before the examination and can drive themselves by car.
We create a venous access for the examination and administer additional intravenous beta-blockers, if necessary.
