Both in clinical routine and research settings, we employ a 1.5 Tesla MR scanner (Avanto fit, Siemens) which is specially designed for cardiac examinations. A total of approximately 3000 patients are examined per year. We collaborate with the Department of Radiology at the Helios Clinic in Berlin-Buch, and utilize a Siemens-designed computed tomography scanner for our diagnostic imaging needs. The Berlin Ultrahigh Field Facility (B.U.F.F) at the MDC is conveniently located within a short walking distance of approximately 3 minutes. There, we utilize a 3.0T MRI scanner (Skyra fit, Siemens) that is accessible for clinical research purposes. Moreover, we are privileged to be one of the select few sites globally to conduct cardiovascular MRI research using an experimental 7.0T scanner (Magnetom, Siemens).
In the clinical context, image analysis is mainly carried out with the aid of CVI42 (Circle International, Calgary, Canada) software. In research, we utilize additional software programs such as MASS (Medis, Netherlands), alongside our own self-developed programs.
In addition to the Helios Clinic Berlin-Buch location, we also have the Berlin-Buch ECRC Research-Labs within the Berlin-Buch Research Campus to our disposal.
